International Workers’ Day, also known as Labour Day in some regions, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes promoted by the international labour movement. It takes place every year on 1 May, an ancient European spring holiday.

Please listen to the BBC World Service interview with the Workers of England Union, which highlights some of our campaigns—particularly our support for the English Trade Union Congress.

Your support and membership have enabled us to campaign on your behalf for fair and equal treatment of England’s workforce. Slowly but surely, the British government is being made to listen!

Listen to the interview on BBC World Service (starts at 16:45 minutes).

The Workers of England Union have also been out campaigning and meeting members over the weekend. You can see our locations on the Twitter feed displayed on the right-hand side of our website. If you’d like our campaigning vehicle to visit your area, please let us know and we will schedule a stop.
